‘Working the GROUND in Colorado. Time to prepare the gardens for planting.’

I feel the need
to grow something living;
I chose tomatoes, green beans,
parsley and dill,
three types of peppers,
basil, onions, and
two types of squash,
and a bunch of kale.
I bought the best dirt,
and bright colored windsocks,
and hung from the trees
many wind chimes for me.
I love the sounds of all the birds
singing though-out the day,
but I hope to keep them from feasting
on my soon ripening treats.
Watching them grow
brings me great joy,
I am keeping my fingers crossed
that they don’t die,
due to birds, pests,
or dried up soil;
Wish me luck!!
Commence our journey
With our childhood dreams,
Short-lived, all too soon set free,
Drifting on wind’s breath,
Loosely held,
Slightly possessed,
Once in wit’s play,
Once determined to embark – yet,
Eventually, slowly
One by one, we let them go.
But, with reflection
Our journey’s travel
Will later discover
Childhood dreams emerging forth,
Uncovered, found, laid bare,
Not forgotten, in wit’s play,
Our journey, ourchildhood dreams
To embark.
My heart is captured
By new hopes- with dreams
Wished upon the falling stars;
I embrace them near,
With anticipation,
With promise –
They arise true;
Holding them tight,
Not letting them steal away,
Not allowing disappointment
Or sorrow;
With a open heart –
I search the sunbeams,
And moon shadows,
I cling to my dreams.
Commence our journey
With our childhood dreams,
Short-lived, all too soon set free,
Drifting on wind’s breath,
Loosely held,
Slightly possessed,
Once in wit’s play,
Once determined to embark – yet,
Eventually, slowly
One by one, we let them go.
But, with reflection
Our journey’s travel
Will later discover
Childhood dreams emerging forth,
Uncovered, found, laid bare,
Not forgotten, in wit’s play,
